According to Ngoc Ha Ward Police, on July 31, the unit received a report from Mr. N.N.T. (born in 1997) about the loss of a Honda Wave motorbike parked at the beginning of alley 167 Hoang Hoa Tham street.
Immediately after receiving the report, Ngoc Ha Ward Police deployed professional measures, reviewed the scene, verified witnesses, extracted security camera data and pursued suspects.
After a short time, the police force identified and summoned 4 related subjects including N.G. H. (born in 2011), B.G. H. (born in 2012), L.N. (born in 2011) and L.B. Q. B. A. (born in 2010). According to initial verification, the subjects all have no criminal record.
At the police station, the group of teenagers admitted to the act of property theft. The subjects confessed that because they often gathered, left home for many days and needed money to spend, they took advantage of late night, looking for motorbikes left in deserted areas, without guards to steal.
According to the confession, this group broke the lock, connected the electrical system to start the car and then quickly escaped. The motorbike, after being stolen, was taken away to hide for use or sold to get money to spend.
Expanding the investigation, Ngoc Ha Ward Police determined that at about 1 am on July 31, two subjects L.N. and L.B. Q. B. A. also committed another motorbike theft in the Le Van Hien street area, Dong Ngac ward, Hanoi.
Ngoc Ha Ward Police are continuing to consolidate the file, clarify the role of each subject and coordinate with relevant units to handle according to legal regulations.
The Police agency recommends that people raise awareness of protecting property, not to park cars in deserted areas; proactively use anti-theft devices, lock handles, lock discs or park cars in places with guards. When detecting suspicious signs or incidents related to security and order, people need to promptly notify the Police agency.
