Khanh Hoa - Police agencies warn about the situation of students using "modified" electric bicycles and electric motorbikes, posing many risks of traffic unsafety.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Police have just issued a warning about the situation of students using "modified" electric bicycles and motorbikes, speeding at high speeds in Ninh Chu ward, which is quite complicated and poses many risks of traffic unsafety.

Through inspection at schools, Ninh Chu Ward Police discovered many cases of arbitrarily changing vehicle structures such as increasing capacity, speeding; installing additional lights, horns and speed controls not in accordance with regulations.

According to current regulations, electric bicycles are only allowed to have a capacity of about 250W and a design speed not exceeding 25 km/h.

However, after being "modified", many vehicles can operate at higher speeds, increasing the risk of traffic accidents, especially for students.

Notably, many parents still believe that electric bicycles are a safe means of transport for their children when participating in traffic.

But in reality, vehicles that have been technically intervened can become a danger on the road.

Faced with the above situation, the Ninh Chu Ward Police force has coordinated with schools to organize propaganda, for students to write commitments to comply with traffic safety regulations; and at the same time mobilize them to voluntarily remove violating parts and hand them over to functional agencies.

According to functional forces, ensuring school traffic safety is not only the responsibility of functional agencies but also requires coordination and attention from families and schools to raise students' awareness of law compliance.
