Announcing African swine fever in mountainous commune of Quang Tri

Quang Tri - Tuyen Lam Commune People's Committee has just announced the outbreak of African swine fever, deploying destruction, zoning and controlling transportation to prevent spread.

On July 10, the People's Committee of Tuyen Lam commune, Quang Tri province, announced that it had officially announced the African swine fever (DTLCP) in the area due to the rapid outbreak and complicated developments.

According to statistics, from July 4 to now, DTLCP has appeared in Tien Phong village and Cao village, killing 29 pigs with a total weight of more than 2,770 kg, occurring in 12 livestock households.

In the face of the above situation, the People's Committee of the commune has directed functional forces to coordinate in organizing the destruction of sick pigs, isolating outbreaks, strictly monitoring the remaining pigs, and at the same time implementing disinfection and strictly controlling the routes in and out.

Tuyen Lam Commune People's Committee also issued a decision to suspend all activities of transporting, slaughtering, trading pigs and pig products in the epidemic area; Requiring people to strictly comply with epidemic prevention regulations, proactively monitoring and reporting when detecting pigs with signs of infection.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, in Quang Tri, from May 28 to July 3, DTLCP broke out in 21 villages in 6 communes: Kim Phu, Tan Thanh, Phong Nha, Quang Trach, Tan Gianh and Dong Le. The total number of pigs forced to be destroyed was 451, with a weight of nearly 28 tons.

Notably, Phong Nha commune is a hot spot for the epidemic, when the epidemic occurred in 37 livestock households, in 9 villages. Currently, all localities with the epidemic have not passed the 21-day deadline, with the risk of continuing to spread strongly to neighboring areas.
