With 3 previous convictions, including 2 for the crime of "Theft of property", Truong Vinh Thien (born in 1999), residing in Hoa Cuong ward, Da Nang city, not only did not work hard but still "came back to the old road".
It is worth mentioning that when he was hired as a security guard at a construction site in the area, Thien "pulled" the assets of the construction unit to sell for spending money.
In June 2025, Thien signed a contract to work as a security guard at a construction site in Hoa Cuong ward. During the work, he noticed the laxity in the management of materials (electric wires) of the construction unit, so he had the idea of stealing and selling them for spending money.
Before taking action, Thien went online, participated in buying and selling groups, exchanged electricity and water supplies to find buyers. After finding a "partners" and negotiating prices, on the last night's shift, Thien secretly appropriated the project's power coils and took them to sell. During less than 2 months of working at the project, Thien had repeatedly stolen and taken away 33 new, unused electric wires, worth nearly 50 million VND.
Discovering the lost assets, the construction unit reported it to the authorities. Taking verification and investigation measures, Hoa Cuong Ward Police identified Truong Vinh Thien as the suspect who committed the crime.
On August 27, Hoa Cuong Ward Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute an order to temporarily detain Truong Vinh Thien for the crime of "Theft of property".
Expanding the investigation, the police continued to prosecute the accused and issue an Order prohibiting him from leaving his place of residence against Nguyen Tri Tien (born in 1995), residing in Hai Van ward, Da Nang city for the same act.
The case is currently under investigation.
