Due to the current status of the total surface flow on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon River in 2024 being lower than the average value of the last 10 years and the average value of many years. Therefore, the Hydrometeorological Station assessed that the risk of water shortage in 2025 is very high.
At the 2024 year-end meeting of the Coordination Board for Integrated Management of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon River Basin and the coastal area of Quang Nam - Da Nang, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the two localities of Da Nang and Quang Nam directed units to take measures to use water economically and effectively, and develop a plan to respond to saltwater intrusion next year.
