Da Nang strengthens the implementation of radiation and nuclear safety measures

Da Nang - From 2019 to now, Da Nang has not recorded any radiation incidents in the health system.

On June 11, the Department of Science & Technology of Da Nang organized a scientific workshop on "Atomic energy application: nuclear radiation management, safety and incident response solutions".

At the workshop, many topics were presented. In particular, the topic of the revised Law on Atomic Energy, new points in the decentralization of nuclear radiation safety management, was presented by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khai, Director of the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Duong Hoang Van Ban - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang said that the work of nuclear radiation safety management in Da Nang city always receives professional guidance from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Department of radiation and Nuclear Safety, and the leaders of Da Nang city and is implemented in accordance with current regulations.

According to experts, from 2019 to present, Da Nang has not recorded any radiation incidents in the health system.

Given the new requirements of practice and international trends, amending and supplementing the Law is necessary to improve management effectiveness, while strengthening decentralization and delegation of authority in accordance with the capacity of central and local agencies.
