This is the peak of the dry season in the South, so there is little rain. However, unseasonal rains lasting several days often occur in the area, so the total monthly rainfall is higher than the average of many years in most of the region.

In the first half of the month, the weather at night and early morning is quite cold. In the last few days of the month, there is a possibility of local heat with the highest temperature above 35 degrees Celsius.
In March, the region is still affected by the southern edge of the cold continental high pressure, but the northeast monsoon that dominates the region's weather has weakened significantly, generally having weak to moderate intensity. The hot low pressure in the west develops and gradually becomes stronger.
The weather in the area will have several widespread heat waves with the highest temperature of 36-37 degrees Celsius appearing for a few days in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City. The number of hot days is common from 10-15 days. The hot season in 2025 is likely to not be as severe as in 2024, including the highest temperature value and the number of hot days.
Convective rains start to appear in some parts of the region from mid-March onwards. Therefore, there will be significant differences in rainfall between small areas.
During the dry months of early 2025, from January to March, there will be a number of unseasonal rains with light to moderate rainfall lasting for a few days. Unseasonal rains are likely to occur throughout the dry months, creating an indistinct dry season or so-called wet dry season in the region.
