Speaking at the ceremony to hand over and receive the funds, Mr. Pham Van Thanh - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Petroleum Group, said: "In response to the Prime Minister's call to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor, Vietnam National Petroleum Group has decided to support Dien Bien province with 50 billion VND with the hope that, together with the cooperation of the whole country, poor households will soon settle down and stabilize their lives."
Providing more information about the social charity activities and community responsibility of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group in recent times, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh said that in addition to focusing on production and business activities, each officer, employee and worker of the Group always attaches importance to social responsibility, especially to the poor and the community.
"Every year, the Group spends hundreds of billions of VND on social security and charity activities and taking care of the lives of the poor and poor households," Mr. Thanh emphasized.
Thanking the support of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group, Mr. Le Thanh Do - Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, said that in 2024, Dien Bien province also received a lot of attention from the Central Government, ministries, branches, localities and economic groups to implement housing construction for poor households...
In the program "eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households", Dien Bien province has received support and funding from the whole country with a total budget of hundreds of billions of VND to complete housing for 5,000 poor households. Thanks to that, the poverty rate of Dien Bien province in 2024 has decreased by more than 4.06% compared to 2023.
"With the 50 billion VND budget supported by the Petroleum Group to build 1,000 houses for poor households today, on behalf of the leaders, officials and people of Dien Bien province, I pledge to use the support for the right purpose, speed up the progress of building houses for poor households, ensure the right subjects, the right purpose so that poor households have stable and secure housing and rise up in life" - Mr. Le Thanh Do said.
