On August 25, according to information from the Dong Thap Provincial Police website, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Thap Provincial Police is temporarily detaining Dinh Viet Phat (30 years old, residing in My Tho Ward, Dong Thap Province) to investigate and clarify the act of property theft.
Earlier, on the morning of August 19, Phat went to a coffee shop in Dao Thanh ward and stole a motorbike from an employee there. After receiving the victim's report, Dao Thanh Ward Police conducted an investigation, verification, and invited Dinh Viet Phat to work.
At the police station, Phat confessed that he needed money to spend, so he had the idea of stealing property. When he saw a motorbike left in front of the shop, the key was still attached to the motorbike, there was no one to guard it, so the subject sneaked in to steal it.
It is known that Phat has a previous conviction for theft. Currently, Dao Thanh Ward Police are recovering the motorbike to continue investigating and handling it according to the provisions of law.
On August 19, 2025, Trung An Ward Police (Dong Thap Province) received information about a motorbike theft in Quarter 10 (Trung An Ward, Dong Thap Province). After committing the act of stealing a motorbike, the subject took the stolen motorbike and fled.
After receiving information about the theft, using professional measures, the ward police traced the evidence of the theft, a motorbike that the subject had hidden and returned it to the victim. By August 22, 2025, Trung An Ward Police had arrested Nguyen Van Dung (36 years old, residing in Chau Thanh Commune, Dong Thap Province). At the police station, Dung admitted to stealing a motorbike on August 19, 2025.
It is known that Dung has 4 previous convictions and was just released from prison and returned to his hometown in 2024. The case is currently being investigated and handled according to the law.
