On November 6, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province issued a Plan to implement the "Month of action for gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence" in 2024. The month of action has the theme "Ensuring social security, increasing power and creating opportunities for women and girls to achieve gender equality and eliminate gender-based violence". Implementation time is from November 15 to December 15.
The Action Month will include 7 main activities. In particular, organizing the Launching Ceremony of the Action Month in an appropriate form; increasing propaganda about the theme, message and activities of the Action Month on mass media in many forms, suitable for each target group and actual situation.
Organize forums, dialogues, seminars, workshops, and training sessions on topics related to the theme of the Action Month 2024; disseminate policies to ensure social security for people in general and women and children in particular, and the role of empowering women and girls in promoting gender equality.
Along with that, Dong Thap province will strengthen the implementation of digitalization in communication through social networks (facebook, fanpage, youtube...) to reach more people, especially young people, students,... to spread more strongly gender equality and prevent and respond to gender-based violence, and empower women and girls.
Strengthen inspections on gender equality and women's advancement at agencies, units and localities during the Action Month. Strictly handle violations of gender equality, gender-based violence and the implementation of policies to support social security.
Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee requested units to step up the mobilization of resources to implement the Action Month; increase the socialization of communication activities and support for women and children in difficult circumstances, victims of abuse, violence, trafficking, exploitation, people affected by natural disasters, climate change, etc.
