On May 2, Tan Thanh Town Police, Tan Thanh District is completing the file to handle two subjects transporting smuggled cigarettes using sophisticated disguise.
Previously, during a crime patrol, the police discovered a woman driving a motorbike carrying a large suitcase with suspicious signs. During the inspection, the police discovered that the suitcase contained 710 packs of foreign- brand cigarettes, without invoices or documents.
About 15 minutes later, also at the above location, the authorities continued to discover another woman driving a motorbike carrying a similar suitcase. Through inspection, the police discovered 790 packs of smuggled cigarettes in this suitcase.
At the police station, the two people transporting the goods were identified as living in Binh Hiep commune, Kien Tuong town. One is 26 years old and the other is 35 years old.
Both confessed that they impersonated a makeup artist, using suitcases and handbags to disguise themselves, and if asked, they would say they were carrying professional tools. The above cigarettes were purchased from Kien Tuong town, and were being transported for consumption in Ben Tre province when they were discovered.
Tan Thanh Town Police have drawn up a record, seized the exhibits and continued to investigate and handle the subjects according to the provisions of the law.
