The People's Committee of Kinh Mon town requires units to organize standing forces to ensure safety in forest protection, prevent illegal exploitation and deforestation in localities with forests in the town; promptly detect, prevent and handle violations of forestry laws in the area according to the provisions of law.
Arrange local forces and forest owners to focus on inspecting, reviewing, and identifying key forest areas at high risk of encroachment and key forest areas prone to fire to develop and effectively implement plans to protect forests and prevent forest fires before, during, and after the 2025 Lunar New Year; proactively mobilize forces, closely coordinate with the Forest Ranger force and local authorities to increase patrols and inspections, and effectively implement forest protection work.
Especially in special-use and protective forests associated with historical relics and scenic spots where the Spring Festival takes place at the special national relic site of An Phu - Kinh Chu - Nham Duong.
Kinh Mon Town People's Committee requested Kinh Mon Forest Management Station (Hai Duong Forest Management Board) to develop a plan and coordinate with local authorities and relevant agencies to clear fallen trees due to storms to ensure forest fire prevention and control, and manage forest products in accordance with regulations.
The town police coordinated with Kinh Mon Forest Management Station, forest owners, local authorities, and forest rangers to investigate, verify, and clarify the cause and perpetrator of the forest fire according to the provisions of law.
In 2024, a number of forest fires occurred in Hai Duong province, typically the forest fire in An Phu ward, Kinh Mon town on October 5 and in Pha Lai ward, Chi Linh city on December 28.
The cause is due to the prolonged dry weather, combined with the increase in sources of fire-causing materials due to broken, fallen, uprooted, and dead trees after storm No. 3 Yagi that have not been collected, salvaged, or liquidated.
Previously, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province also requested departments, branches, agencies and units; the People's Committee of Kinh Mon town; the People's Committee of Chi Linh city to strengthen forest fire prevention and fighting. The Provincial People's Committee requested to inspect, urge and strictly control the use of fire in and near forests by people, temporarily stop using fire to treat the ground cover; strictly handle acts of using fire that risk causing forest fires during the peak period when the risk of forest fires is high.
