Hung Yen discovers firecracker production workshop in rented house for Tet sale

Hung Yen - On January 16, according to the Provincial Police, the Economic Police Department has just discovered and arrested two subjects producing illegal firecrackers.

Previously, at about 12:00 on January 15, the Economic Police Department of Hung Yen Provincial Police inspected, discovered and caught red-handed two subjects in the act of producing prohibited goods, which are firecrackers, at a motel in An Thi commune, Hung Yen province.

The two arrested subjects are Nguyen Van Huan (born in 1994, residing in Dong Khe commune, Tuyen Quang province) and Bui Van Binh (born in 1997, residing in Lac Son commune, Phu Tho province).

During the inspection, functional forces discovered and seized 6 carton boxes and many exhibits related to illegal firecracker production activities. Among them, there were 4 boxes containing 304 finished firecrackers, with a total weight of 86kg; 1 box containing 21 round cylindrical objects wrapped in red paper, empty inside, not yet loaded with medicine and not yet installed with wires; 1 carton box containing 3 nylon bags containing sawdust.

In addition, the police force also seized 5 explosives, 11 bottles and boxes of 502 glue, 1 sticky tape, 6 rolls of tape, 1 scissors, 1 plastic spoon, 1 homemade plastic tool and 26 red paper sheets, which are items serving the making of firecrackers.

At the police station, Huan and Binh confessed that all of the above firecrackers were purchased by the subjects to rented houses for self-production. After that, the subjects advertised them for sale via social networks at a price of 200,000 VND/firecracker to make a profit during the Lunar New Year 2026.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Hung Yen Provincial Police has temporarily detained Nguyen Van Huan and Bui Van Binh to continue investigating, expanding the case and strictly handling it according to the provisions of law.
