Hung Yen increases on-duty, prepares for storm No. 3

Hung Yen - The working group of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee requested localities to be ready to respond, not subjective in the face of storm No. 3.

On July 20, the working delegation of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee led by Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee worked with departments, branches and authorities of coastal communes on the prevention and control of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha).

At the meeting, leaders of departments, branches and localities reported on preparations to respond to storm, rescue and relief situations. In particular, the Hung Yen Provincial Police force has issued instructions to units, requesting them to proactively monitor storm developments, deploy plans to ensure security and order, and prevent acts of taking advantage of natural disasters to commit crimes.

Traffic safety assurance, especially waterway transportation, is given special attention. Special equipment and means for rescue are ready.

In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia acknowledged the efforts of agencies, units and localities in proactively preventing natural disasters. He requested to continue to strictly implement the direction of the Central and the province, not to be subjective or negligent. Localities need to mobilize maximum forces and means, deploy 24/7 on-duty according to the "4 on-site" motto; prepare plans to evacuate people in dangerous areas to safe places.

The Provincial Party Secretary also directed the maximum opening of drainage culverts to protect rice, crops, and residential areas; urgently unblocking water flows, operating irrigation pumping stations; strengthening inspection and reinforcement of houses, public works, electricity and telecommunications systems. At the same time, press agencies are required to step up communication about storm developments and prevention instructions to raise people's proactive awareness.

On the same day, the working group inspected a number of localities and key units in Thai Thuy commune to grasp the implementation of storm response work at the grassroots level.
