Dak Nong border district arrests 12 cases related to firecrackers

Dak Nong - After more than 3 weeks of implementing the peak of attacking and suppressing crime, Dak Mil District Police have cracked down on 12 cases related to firecrackers.

On January 10, the Investigation Police Agency of Dak Mil District Police (Dak Nong) announced that the unit had issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and apply preventive measures to prohibit the two subjects from leaving their place of residence.

They are Ngo Vu Thanh Chuong (born in 1978), residing in Duc Minh commune, Dak Mil district and Nguyen Van Son (born in 1979), residing in Dak Buk So commune, Tuy Duc district. The two subjects are being investigated for transporting prohibited goods (fireworks).

Previously, on the afternoon of December 25, 2024, the Criminal, Economic and Drug Police Team of Dak Mil District Police coordinated with Dak Lao and Dak N'Drot Commune Police to arrest suspect Chuong.

This subject transported 2 cartons, each containing 18 cubes, each cube containing 49 cylindrical paper tubes (suspected to be firecrackers).

Searching the residence of the suspect Chuong, the police force seized 3 more cardboard boxes. Inside each box contained 18 cubes, each cube had 49 cylindrical paper tubes (suspected to be firecrackers).

According to Chuong's testimony, all of the above evidence was firecrackers, with a total weight of nearly 150kg. Expanding the investigation, Dak Mil District Police arrested Nguyen Van Son to investigate as an accomplice.

According to Dak Mil District Police, after more than 3 weeks of implementing the peak, the force has fought and destroyed 7 cases, arrested 10 subjects storing, transporting, and trading prohibited goods (firecrackers) and 5 cases, 10 subjects illegally manufacturing firecrackers.

Through that, the police force seized 235kg of firecrackers, over 12kg of finished firecrackers, 4.996kg of explosive precursors and many items related to the manufacture of firecrackers.
