After Typhoon No. 3 Yagi caused serious damage in Lao Cai, especially to the school system in the highlands, the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam coordinated with an Israeli enterprise operating in Vietnam to sponsor funds to renovate two severely affected kindergartens in Bat Xat district. The inauguration ceremony of the renovation works took place on the morning of February 19.
With a total cost of more than 300 million VND, the project has coordinated with Lao Cai province to renovate two schools, Na Lac and Tan Tien, in Trinh Tuong Kindergarten, Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district. These projects not only help overcome the consequences of natural disasters but also improve the quality of educational infrastructure, ensuring better learning conditions for children in mountainous areas.
At the Na Lac kindergarten that was seriously affected by Typhoon Yagi, the project has built a new toilet, ensuring cleaner and more convenient living conditions for the 90 children studying here. In addition, the roof system of the entire area has also been completely renovated to increase the ability to withstand harsh weather conditions in the high mountains.
At Tan Tien school, the project has built a new kitchen, completely replacing the dilapidated kitchen area. This new project not only helps children have hygienic eating conditions but also creates a more favorable environment for teachers and service staff at the school.
The renovation of the two schools not only helps students have a safer and more convenient learning space but also contributes significantly to the overall development of the local community.
Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Yaron Mayer emphasized that this project is a testament to the strong cooperative relationship between Israel and Vietnam.
We clearly understand the importance of education and the need for a safe learning environment, supporting children's development. The people of Israel also often face harsh weather conditions and a lack of resources, so we deeply sympathize with the difficulties the community here is facing. Through this project, we hope to bring practical support to areas affected by natural disasters," said Israeli Ambassador Yaron Mayer.
This two-school renovation project is part of Israel's long-term commitment to supporting the development of education in Vietnam. This is a clear demonstration of the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance between Israel and Vietnam in difficult times.
