On June 1, detention facilities in Khanh Hoa province simultaneously held a ceremony to announce the President's 2026 amnesty decision for prisoners who are eligible to enjoy the leniency policy of the Party and the State.
At Prison A2 (Dien Lam commune), the Department of Prison Management Police, compulsory education institutions, and reform schools (Ministry of Public Security) organized a ceremony to announce the 2026 amnesty decision.
According to Mr. Can Dinh Tai - Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Member of the Central Amnesty Advisory Council in 2026, the Amnesty Decision was signed by the President on May 26, 2026, and more than 9,950 prisoners nationwide were released from prison ahead of schedule.
At Prison A2 alone, 143 prisoners were granted amnesty out of a total of more than 2,700 prisoners serving their sentences.
Mr. Can Dinh Tai affirmed that amnesty is a humanitarian and lenient policy of the Party and State, and at the same time expresses faith in the ability to turn to goodness and repentance of those who have made mistakes.
The amnesty policy not only recognizes the reform results of prisoners but also opens up opportunities for them to return to their families, reintegrate into the community and become useful citizens.
Congratulating the inmates who were granted amnesty, leaders of the Presidential Office wished each person when returning to their localities to continue to strictly comply with the law, work honestly, take care of their families and not re-offend.

At the ceremony, central and local leaders presented Certificates of Amnesty, ID cards and phone SIMs to 143 prisoners who were released from prison ahead of schedule.
As one of the people to be granted amnesty this time, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhut (Khanh Hoa) expressed his emotion and gratitude to the Board of Directors and officials of Prison A2 for their dedicated education and encouragement throughout the reform period.
He pledged to strictly abide by the law, live responsibly and strive to build a stable life after returning to his locality.
On the same day, at Song Cai Prison (Bac Ai Tay commune) under Department C10 (Ministry of Public Security), the announcement ceremony of the 2026 amnesty decision was also held with the participation of Mr. Nguyen Viet Duc - Director of the Legal Department, Presidential Office.
According to the unit's announcement, 143 prisoners at Song Cai Prison were granted amnesty this time.
Leaders of Song Cai Prison said that the unit has fully implemented the procedures for considering and approving amnesty dossiers in accordance with legal regulations. At the same time, coordinate with local authorities to prepare conditions to support people granted amnesty to reintegrate into the community, find jobs and stabilize their lives.
At Detention Center No. 1 and Detention Center No. 2 under Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, the announcement ceremony of the 2026 amnesty decision was also held on the same morning.
According to the President's decision, Detention Center No. 1 has 20 prisoners granted amnesty, Detention Center No. 2 has 8 prisoners granted amnesty. All prisoners have good sentence execution processes, actively work, study and meet the conditions according to the provisions of law.
