Prosecution and temporary detention of subject who slashed and injured people

An Giang - Suspect Nguyen Cong Bang was prosecuted and ordered to be arrested for temporary detention to investigate the act of intentionally causing injury.

On June 23, Ngoc Chuc Commune Police said that the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police has issued decisions to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute the order to arrest the accused for temporary detention against Nguyen Cong Bang (born in 1993, residing in Ngoc Chuc commune) and the order to prohibit leaving the place of residence for Nguyen Chi Hieu (born in 2001, residing in Rach Gia ward) to investigate the act of intentionally causing injury.

Previously, on April 10, 2026, stemming from conflicts in daily life and communication, Nguyen Cong Bang drove a motorbike carrying Nguyen Chi Hieu to a motorbike repair shop in Ngoc Thanh hamlet, Ngoc Chuc commune to meet Mr. Phan Van Cuong (born in 1973, residing in Giong Rieng commune) to talk.

During the conversation, an argument occurred between the parties. Nguyen Cong Bang used a scythe to slash Mr. Cuong's left forearm, causing injury, while Nguyen Chi Hieu used a helmet to hit Mr. Cuong. After committing the act, both left the scene.

The victim was taken by her family to Giong Rieng Medical Center for emergency treatment. At about 11 pm on the same day, Nguyen Cong Bang came to Ngoc Chuc Commune Police to surrender, while Nguyen Chi Hieu was summoned by the police agency to work immediately afterwards. At the police agency, the subjects admitted all violations.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police has initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused and is continuing to investigate and handle according to the provisions of law.
