On April 22, My Thoi Ward Police said that the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police had prosecuted and temporarily detained defendant Le Minh Tan (born in 1994, residing in My Thoi ward, An Giang province) to investigate the act of "Illegal use of narcotics".
Previously, at about 2:15 pm on February 9, 2026, My Thoi Ward Police received a report from the people about the discovery of a subject showing signs of suspected illegal use of drugs.
After receiving the report, the Ward Police deployed forces to conduct an inspection and invite the subject to the headquarters to work. At the Ward Police headquarters, a quick test showed that the subject was positive for drugs, Methamphetamine type.
Through struggle, Tan admitted to illegally using drugs (methamphetamine) bought from unknown sources. Le Minh Tan is the subject managed after drug detoxification in the locality.
Currently, the case is being further investigated and clarified by the Investigation Police Agency for handling according to the provisions of law.
