On May 21, Hung Yen Provincial Police informed that through grasping the situation in the area, Hiep Cuong Commune Police had just discovered and clarified a gambling case in the form of buying and selling lottery numbers that occurred in the area.
Previously, at about 5:50 pm on May 11, at the house of Pham Viet Long (born in 1970, residing in Hiep Cuong commune), functional forces discovered Nguyen Van Chien (born in 1988) and Nguyen Ba Duong (born in 1967) both residing in Hiep Cuong commune having the act of buying lottery numbers and lottery numbers from Long with a total amount of nearly 6 million VND.
During the inspection, the police force seized cash along with many documents and exhibits related to lottery and lottery number recording activities and a mobile phone serving exchange and transaction.
The Investigation Police Agency of Hung Yen Provincial Police has issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the defendant Pham Viet Long for gambling; and at the same time applied preventive measures of prohibiting departure from residence and temporarily suspending exit to serve the investigation work according to the provisions of law.
