On December 9, the Military Command of Kien Giang province held a conference to review military and defense work in 2024.
In 2024, the armed forces of Kien Giang province have thoroughly grasped and implemented the resolutions, directives and instructions of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region, Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee on military and national defense work. Strictly maintain combat readiness tasks, regularly practice plans to protect targets and protect units.
Directed the successful organization of district-level defense area drills; completed 35 commune-level unit drills close to reality, ensuring absolute safety for people, weapons and equipment. Advised the Provincial Military Service Council to effectively implement the process of selecting and calling citizens to join the army, achieving targets at 3 levels, quality was improved, and the number of party members officially joining the army exceeded the set target.
Implementing well the emulation and reward work and the emulation movement to win and reward; proposing to reward 347 collectives and 1,365 individuals. Successfully organizing the Provincial Armed Forces Emulation Congress for Victory, period 2019-2024. Activities to search for and collect martyrs' remains in Cambodia achieved many positive results.
Logistics and technical work to ensure timely support for regular tasks, training, combat readiness, increased production, and environmental landscape construction are given attention and investment.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Nguyen Van Nganh, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, also requested agencies and units in the provincial military to continue to be proactive and sensitive, improve research and forecasting capacity, grasp the situation, promptly detect early plots and sabotage tricks of hostile forces, have appropriate solutions, measures and countermeasures to successfully handle situations without being passive or surprised.
Further promote the core role of advising the Party Committee and the Government in building a national defense and a solid defense zone for the province in the new situation. Continue to improve the quality of training, exercises, combat readiness, promote regularization, and strengthen discipline.
Focus on building a strong Party Committee of the provincial armed forces in terms of politics, ideology, organization and cadres. Improve the quality and effectiveness of the fight against wrong and hostile viewpoints, maintain the ideological position and high fighting strength.
At the conference, the Provincial Military Command also launched and signed the emulation covenant for 2025 among units in the provincial military.
