On October 1, the Provincial Police, the People's Procuracy of An Giang Province, along with Dinh Thanh Prison and Kenh 7 Prison (under Department C10, Ministry of Public Security) held a signing ceremony of the Regulation on coordination in detention, temporary detention and execution of criminal sentences.
At the ceremony, the units agreed to approve and sign two Coordination Regulations between the Provincial Police and the Provincial People's Procuracy; between the Provincial People's Procuracy and Dinh Thanh Prison and Kenh 7 Prison. The content of the Regulation clearly stipulates the scope, principles, methods and responsibilities for coordination, emphasizing the central role of the Provincial People's Procuracy in the activities of temporary detention, temporary detention and execution of criminal judgments.

A notable new point of this Regulation is to increase information exchange, establish a close coordination mechanism in handling arising situations, and tighten discipline and order in judicial work. At the same time, the parties committed to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of those being detained, temporarily detained and prisoners in accordance with the provisions of law. Maintain a regime of providing periodic information, organizing inter-sectoral meetings, coordinating the settlement of complaints and denunciations as well as promptly removing difficulties and obstacles in the process of performing tasks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Han, Director of An Giang Provincial Police, emphasized: The signing of the Coordination Regulations is an important basis for the Provincial Police force, the People's Procuracy and detention facilities to synchronously and consistently implement detention management, ensuring absolute safety of prisons and correctional centers. Thereby contributing to preventing and stopping violations and crimes in detention facilities, while creating favorable conditions for the work of educating and reforming prisoners, ensuring the strictness but humanity of the law".

The Chief Prosecutor of the An Giang Provincial People's Procuracy - Nguyen Ngoc Phuc affirmed: "The signing of the Regulation not only strengthens the coordination between the prosecution agencies and detention facilities, but also demonstrates a strong political commitment to ensuring the socialist legal system and improving the effectiveness of prosecution. Contributing to maintaining security and order and strengthening people's trust in the strictness and humanity of the law".
The new regulations officially take effect from the date of signing, replacing Regulations No. 155/QCPH-CA-VKS dated July 8, 2019 between Kien Giang Provincial Police (old) and Kien Giang Provincial People's Procuracy (old). This is an important step, demonstrating the proactive, responsible and determined to innovate of the An Giang Provincial People's Procuracy in building a comprehensive coordination mechanism, in accordance with practical requirements, contributing to improving the effectiveness of judicial work in the area.
