Information at the meeting on strengthening urgent measures on forest fire prevention and fighting of the People's Committee of Kien An district, from the beginning of April until now, there have been 4 forest fires in the district on April 1, April 12, April 15 and 16 in the Thien Van hill forest and Cot Co. The main resources affected were vegetation, bushes and broken branches in the forest, with no human casualties.
One of the current difficulties in forest fire prevention and fighting is after the No. 3 storm (Storm Yagi), a large amount of broken branches and dry leaves still exist in the forest, becoming a source of flammable materials. The area of the hill forest has many trails and openings, often people come to visit and exercise, but the awareness of fire prevention of a part of the people is not high. Some areas of the astronomical hill and the flagpole with complex terrain also hindered the access and conducting fire. The coordination of the forces in wards is sometimes not timely, affecting the effectiveness of the initial fire situation.
In the face of the above situation, the representative of the People's Committee of Kien An District requested agencies and units to strengthen close coordination and synchronously implement forest fire prevention and fighting measures. In particular, focusing on promoting information, propaganda, raising people's awareness to proactively and actively participate in fire prevention and fighting.
Wards with forests mobilize forces to regularly patrol and control hills and forests, detect violations of regulations on forest fire prevention and fighting; urgently collect dry trees and broken branches, especially in key areas, minimizing the risk of forest fires. At the same time, promptly complete the procedures for liquidating expired forest contract contracts.
Leaders of the District People's Committee proposed the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the City, the Department of Crop Production and Ranger to support the district all means and equipment to effectively serve the forest fire prevention and fighting. Specialized agencies immediately deploy the field survey, construction of infrastructure works for forest fire prevention and fighting such as water pipeline system and fire -fighting water tank, contributing to proactively responding and minimizing damage caused by forest fires.
Previously, the People's Committee of Kien An district informed about the fire that occurred at 5:00 p.m. on April 12 in the area of Mo Tinh, Cot Co mountain (Hanh Phuc residential group, Bac Ha ward) causing damage to about 3,000 m2 of protective forest area, 30 cajuput trees fell, and no human casualties. Recently, the authorities coordinated to extinguish a fire of 600m2 of carpet at Thien Van hill (Tran Thanh Ngo ward).
