Former Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee presented 500 valuable books to the library

Yen Bai - The Provincial Library has just received 500 books from former Yen Bai Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Y.

On April 17, informing the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Dong Thi Hong Hanh - Director of Yen Bai Provincial Library said that in response to the call to mobilize book donation, Mr. Nguyen Van Y - former Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee donated 500 books to Yen Bai Provincial Library.

Among the books awarded, there are many valuable publications and documents related to the fields of history, culture, and economy, making practical contributions to the activities of archiving, researching and developing reading culture in the locality.

According to Ms. Dong Thi Hong Hanh, this activity takes place within the framework of activities towards Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025. In the spirit of spreading knowledge, in recent times, the Yen Bai Provincial Library has actively called on organizations and individuals in the area to participate in donating books.

To date, the library has received more than 5,000 books in many fields such as culture, economics, agriculture, history, etc. All the books received will be classified and added to the circulation system to serve the grassroots library and donated to school bookcases.

This is a meaningful activity that contributes to expanding the space to access knowledge for people, especially students in remote areas, ethnic minorities, while promoting the value of books and building a learning society in Yen Bai province.

Currently, Yen Bai Provincial Library has nearly 300,000 copies of books of many different genres and over 100 newspapers and magazines. In addition to paper document capital, electronic documents are also being supplemented, helping readers access many types of documents, while sharing digital information resources with school libraries in the province.

Every month, the Yen Bai Provincial Library still maintains mobile library trucks carrying documents, books, and newspapers to the most remote districts and communes to serve people in the highlands.
