On November 13, the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance held a workshop on “Disaster Response and Recovery” to share knowledge and experience, helping businesses raise awareness and proactively respond to increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks.
Speaking at the workshop, Acting Director of the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) Tran Quang Hung said that digital transformation creates many breakthrough opportunities for organizations and businesses. However, along with that, digital transformation also makes us face the risks of attacks and data intrusion.
According to Mr. Hung, to adapt to the constantly changing digital world, units need to ensure network safety and security to contribute to successful and sustainable digital transformation.
“The establishment of alliances like CYSEEX is the realization of the above spirit, helping to increase protection and comprehensive incident handling both on the business side as well as ensuring national network safety and security,” commented Mr. Tran Quang Hung.
Mr. Tran Quang Hung also commented that the CYSEEX alliance is a typical model, an extension of the national coordination agency and the National Cyber Security Response Network, in the direction of State management agencies and enterprises working together; at the same time, he said that this association model needs to be replicated in many industries and fields.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Trieu Manh Tung - Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention - A05 (Ministry of Public Security) highly appreciated the proactiveness and relatively strong solidarity of CYSEEX, an alliance of businesses voluntarily cooperating and linking for the common goal of protecting network security and safety for systems and customers, bringing benefits to organizations and their users.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Vice President of MISA, President of CYSEEX alliance said that with the motto "the best defense is to proactively attack", in 2024, the alliance continuously organized 9 information security drills on 18 information systems of its members.
Through this, many security vulnerabilities in the systems were discovered, as well as remediation and prevention were organized, helping to improve the information security incident response capacity of members.
In parallel, the CYSEEX Alliance organized 2 anti-phishing drills for 4 member units. In addition, alliance members also actively participated in sharing practical drill experiences, anti-phishing and ensuring information security for the community.
In 2024, from the drills, the CYSEEX Alliance discovered 497 vulnerabilities, of which 93 were critical. The anti-phishing campaign for more than 14,000 employees contributed to a 40% reduction in dangerous vulnerabilities, improving response capabilities and security awareness in member organizations.
In 2024, the alliance will also focus on anti-phishing, aiming to minimize the risk of data theft and financial losses, while helping to maintain the stability and trust of the digital business environment.
CYSEEX Information Security Alliance is an information security alliance initiated by MISA, Sapo, Viettel Solutions, Bao Viet, MobiFone and Bravo established in 2022. CYSEEX aims to cooperate, link to respond and protect the safety of members' information systems against the risk of cyber attacks.
