On May 11, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07, Ho Chi Minh City Police) and the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 7 organized a training session on fire prevention and fighting for nearly 200 officers and employees, tank truck drivers, gas station managers... at Petrolimex Saigon Transport and Service Joint Stock Company (District 7).
At the training session, officers, employees and drivers were imparted basic but extremely important knowledge in fire prevention and fighting, especially skills to handle emergency situations that occur on the scene.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Tan Dat - representative of PC07 Department directly instructed on initial response skills, how to use on-site fire fighting equipment, and analyzed some real-life situations through videos recording fires caused by electricity, gas, tank truck fires, etc.
"Goline is a special commodity, with a very high risk of fire and explosion, even a small mistake can lead to serious consequences" - Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Tan Dat emphasized.
Therefore, the forces directly working in this field, from tanker truck drivers to gas station operators, need to have high awareness and good situation handling skills.
The work of assigning tasks, maintaining equipment and preparing on-site fire fighting equipment must be carried out regularly and seriously.

Major Nguyen Van Hao - Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Inspection Guidance Officer of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Region 7 - shared: "During the process of transporting fuel, drivers must not only strictly comply with safety regulations and rules but also need to be fully equipped with fire prevention and fighting equipment, especially handheld fire extinguishers. Each tanker truck must have at least two bottles and the driver must be proficient in using them.
Major Nguyen Van Hao also recommends that drivers should be trained at least 1 to 2 times a year to update knowledge and practice skills to cope with unexpected incidents, ensuring safety for themselves and the community throughout the process of transporting gasoline.
The highlight of the training session was the in-person practice. The trainees were instructed by PC07 officers to use different types of fire extinguishers to extinguish the simulated fire caused by gasoline.
The training session contributed to raising awareness and the ability to handle situations of forces directly working in the petroleum industry - a field that is always at high risk of fire and explosion.
