On the afternoon of November 25, in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province, the Emulation Cluster of the Military Command (CHQS) of 5 provinces and cities including: Can Tho, An Giang, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Ca Mau (Military Region 9) held a conference to summarize emulation, reward work and the emulation movement to decide on victory in 2025.
Lieutenant General Ho Van Thai, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Region 9 Command, Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council of the Armed Forces of Military Region 9 attended and gave a speech at the conference.
In 2025, emulation and reward work at the Military Commands of 5 provinces and cities of Can Tho, Dong Thap, An Giang, Ca Mau, Vinh Long will be widely deployed, synchronously deployed, and effectively promoted. The content and indicators compete closely with the characteristics of the situation and political tasks of each unit, closely linked with promoting "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", Campaign "Promoting tradition, contributing talent, and worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers". Thereby, creating high solidarity and unity, contributing to promoting the emulation movement to become increasingly in-depth, practical and effective. There are many good ways to do things, new models for units to learn and exchange experiences with each other.
Typical examples include the movements: "Officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Military Region compete to practice office culture, worthy of the title of Uncle Ho's Army"; "Armed Forces of the Military Region join hands to build new rural areas"; "Skilled mass mobilization", "Good mass mobilization unit"; "Armed Forces of the Military Region join hands for the poor - No one is left behind"; the movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025". In 2025, the Military Commands of 5 provinces and cities have built 188 collectives and 318 typical advanced individuals; regularly rewarding, tasks and topics according to their authority for nearly 1,670 collectives, nearly 5,490 individuals.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ho Van Mung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Emulation and Reward Council, said that after the arrangement of administrative units, An Giang has entered a new period of development, with a large geographical space, a population of over 4.95 million people (ranking 3rd in the country and leading the Mekong Delta region). The province's economy continued to grow over the past 10 months of 2025, with An Giang province's economic growth rate (GRDP) reaching 7.85%, ranking first in the Mekong Delta.
"The achievements and results in all fields of the province have the active contributions of the provincial armed forces. Through the determined emulation movement, the provincial armed forces have continuously matured and developed, with high combined quality and fighting power, capable of completing all tasks of firmly protecting the national sovereignty of the southwestern border of the Fatherland", Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized.
Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Ho Van Thai praised the results of the Emulation Cluster of 5 provinces and cities achieved in 2025. At the same time, he affirmed that these results continue to be a premise and motivation for the Emulation Cluster in general and each agency and unit in particular to strive to complete the contents and targets of the Emulation movement for the Victory and Military and Defense tasks in 2026.
The Political Commissar of the Military Region 9 Command, Ho Van Thai, assessed that, in addition to the achieved results, the Emulation Cluster of the Military Command of 5 provinces and cities still has some limitations that need to be reviewed, learned from experience, and thoroughly overcome in the coming time.
Regarding the activities of the Emulation Cluster of 5 provinces and cities, the Political Commissar of the Military Region 9 Command requested to continue to do a good job of advising local Party committees and authorities in the work of building defense areas; strengthening national defense, improving civil defense capacity.
On this occasion, the Emulation and Reward Council of the Armed Forces of Military Region 9 handed over the flag to the head of the Emulation Cluster in 2026 to the Military Command of An Giang province.
