Accordingly, at 12:00 on July 24, the upstream water level of Son La lake was at an elevation of 199.34m, the flow to the lake was 5,565m 3 /s, the discharge flow was 2,987m 3 /s; The upstream water level of Hoa Binh lake is at an elevation of 104.79m, the flow to the lake is 5,448m 3 /s, the discharge flow is 6,978m 3 /s.
Faced with the above situation, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development ordered the Director of Son La Hydropower Company to open a blowdown gate at 6:00 p.m. on July 24.
At the same time, the Director of Hoa Binh Hydropower Company ordered to open the fourth blowdown gate at 11:00 p.m. on the same day.

The canal renovation project will start construction in early 2023, with a total capital of 8,200 billion VND equal to the budget capital.
