Tien Phong Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Thanh Chuong Company Limited (Eras Office) and the Vietnamese Beautiful Calligraphy Club has just officially launched the Vietnamese Beautiful Calligraphy Contest - 2nd time.
This is a playground for primary school students across the country, to encourage them to practice beautiful handwriting, contributing to preserving and spreading the traditional cultural values of the nation.
At the launching ceremony, Mr. Bui Van Phuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tien Phong Company, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest emphasized that handwriting has long been a symbol of knowledge, culture and an indispensable part of the journey of education and maturity of a person. Handwriting also partly expresses the personality, soul and thinking of the writer.

For students, practicing handwriting not only helps them perfect their skills but also helps foster perseverance, discipline, and respect for knowledge. These are also the fundamental factors for students to build their personality and conquer their dreams in the future.
"The theme of the contest is "My Dream," which aims to help children express their thoughts, feelings and dreams through each stroke of the pen, helping them shape their self-worth, nurture their aspirations and record their pure dreams towards a bright future," Mr. Phuong shared.
Quach Gia Nhi, a 3B student at Huong Son Primary School (Thai Nguyen province) - the representative of the excellent student who won the first prize in the "Vietnamese Beautiful Handwriting" contest in 2023, shared that after the contest, she is always aware of practicing her handwriting carefully because "handwriting reflects a person's character".
According to the Organizing Committee, contestants who decide to participate in the contest are completely voluntary and do not have to pay any fees in any form. Teachers of schools and calligraphy clubs are reminded not to instruct students to write in elaborate, creative, or fanciful ways for the contest because this violates the contest rules. In the previous contest season, contestants who wrote very elaborate and creative entries were disqualified, so contestants do not have to practice different handwriting styles.
The contest consists of two rounds:
The Preliminary Round, taking place from November 23, 2024 to March 25, 2025, will see candidates take two written tests.
The Final Round is scheduled to take place on April 19-20, 2025 in Hanoi, where outstanding candidates from the Preliminary Round will demonstrate their talents before a prestigious jury, including teachers and experts in the fields of education and culture.
In addition to the main rounds, many accompanying activities such as exchanges, calligraphy instruction, exhibitions of outstanding works at the Tien Phong Bookstore system and clubs will be organized, creating more cohesion and encouraging students and parents to participate.
