According to Lieutenant Colonel Thuy, he was born and raised in Lang Chanh district, then worked in Cam Thuy district and held the position of Deputy Chief of Cam Thuy district Police. After the policy of removing the district-level police was implemented, he immediately volunteered to become the Chief of Lang Chanh Town Police.

"Initially, when receiving the new assignment, besides the advantages, we also encountered many difficulties. Due to the large workload, while the number of cadres in the unit is still thin. In addition, the facilities have not yet met some new tasks and tasks, especially the tasks received from ministries and branches" - Lieutenant Colonel Thuy said.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Thuy, despite encountering some difficulties after receiving the new assignment, immediately after that, the entire unit immediately started work, met and assigned specific tasks to each officer, especially the officers on duty to receive citizens.

"Working during office hours is not finished, we work overtime at night, as long as the work is smooth, handling all procedures and records of the people, in order to not interrupt any stage. Initially, some tasks were still stuck, however, after directly resolving and consulting with professional departments, the unit's staff did it smoothly" - Lieutenant Colonel Thuy said.

According to the Head of Lang Chanh Town Police, through assessment and direct contact, people initially felt very satisfied and convenient when coming to solve work at the unit. This is also a motivation to help officers and soldiers in the unit make more efforts, improve their qualifications and skills, and better serve the people.

"Lang Chanh is a mountainous district, there are highland areas, people's awareness is limited compared to other areas. Therefore, my biggest wish in the near future is, along with comrades in the command and collective of cadres and soldiers in the unit to well implement the work, advise the Party Committee, the authorities direct the work of ensuring the security and order in the area; Thuy shared.

Receiving and handling thousands of records

According to Lang Chanh Town Police, there are currently 14 neighborhoods in the area, with a total of more than 2,300 permanent households and nearly 10,000 people. Of which, Kinh ethnic group accounts for 34.5%, Muong ethnic group accounts for 43.2%, Thai ethnic group accounts for 20.3% and other ethnic groups account for about 2%.

Implementing the Project on arranging regular police to take on the title of Commune and Town Police from December 20, 2019, the Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police has transferred and appointed 7 officers to work at Lang Chanh Town Police. By March 1, 2025, after abolishing the district-level police, Lang Chanh Town Police had a total of 13 officers.

Implementing the direction of the Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police on the project to build "communes, wards, towns, districts, towns, cities without drugs" for the period 2024-2025, Lang Chanh Town Police have organized a general review, identifying 14 drug addicts, 29 subjects with criminal records and criminal records related to drugs, and preparing records to send 10 subjects to compulsory drug rehabilitation.

Deploying national data collection campaigns on population, issuance and management of electronic chip-embedded citizen identification cards, up to now, Lang Chanh Town has activated more than 4,700 level 2 identification accounts, resolved permanent residence for more than 1,800 records and adjusted residential information for about 6,000 records.
