Although over the years, the police force has increased the handling of cases of going in the wrong direction at the gas station in front of the People's Committee of Tinh Phong commune, Son Tinh district, but in order to shorten the travel distance, many motorbike drivers still deliberately turn off and go in the wrong direction, despite traffic safety regulations.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Bui Hong Lanh (residing in Tinh Hiep commune, Son Tinh district) said: "In this area, every time workers are off work, the vehicles run in the wrong direction, speed, and recklessly overtake a lot, with a high risk of accidents. It needs to be thoroughly handled to ensure the safety of the people."
National Highway 1 passes through Tinh Phong commune, adjacent to a densely populated area, near large industrial parks with tens of thousands of workers, so the situation of motorbikes going in the wrong direction and running red lights often occurs. From June 2024 to present, more than 100 violations have been extracted from the camera by Tinh Phong Commune Police, Son Tinh District, and transferred to the Provincial Police Traffic Police Department for handling according to regulations.

According to Captain Nguyen Dat Phi - Deputy Head of Tinh Phong Commune Police, Son Tinh District - the image of the violation was widely shared on media platforms, contributing to raising public awareness. However, the awareness of obeying traffic laws of a part of the people is still very limited.
Along with the work of handling fines, the work of patrolling, controlling, and handling traffic violations on National Highway 1 through Tinh Phong commune has been actively implemented by the authorities to raise awareness among traffic participants.
From January 1, 2025 to June 1, 2025, the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police handled 389 cases of going in the wrong direction; including 2 cars, 387 motorbikes, with a total fine of more than 2 billion VND. This is a clear demonstration of the strong participation of the authorities.
Captain Nguyen Phan Dong - Officer of the Road Traffic Police Team, Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police - said: "Through direct patrolling combined with surveillance via camera, the situation of going in the wrong direction has decreased significantly. However, many people are still not fully aware. In the coming time, we will continue to strengthen handling by taking measures that are both determined and ensure the safety of traffic participants."
