Violations of profiteering from 500kV power line projects will be strictly handled

    Phu Tho - The Provincial Police Director directed the strict handling of acts of profiteering in compensation and site clearance for the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV Power Line project.

    On April 1, Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan - Director of Phu Tho Provincial Police inspected the actual compensation and site clearance work for the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV Line project through Yen Kien commune, Doan Hung district.

    Here, Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan and the working group inspected and recorded the current status of illegal construction of solid structures on thousands of square meters of land of households.

    The inspection team determined that after grasping the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500 KV Line project, some households will have proactively built and expanded works on agricultural land, forest land and land.

    These are solid works but are built very temporarily, made of cheap materials such as: foundation used with various types of wood, corrugated iron, double-layered ceilings, no foundation... Therefore, although the works have not been completed, subsidence and landslides have occurred, causing unsafety.

    In addition, households also planted many new areas of fruit trees, trees for timber... for the purpose of being counted, waiting to receive compensation and site clearance when implementing the project.

    The above actions of some households are a violation of the law, not only causing damage to the state budget but also causing frustration for households that have received compensation, while affecting the progress of project implementation.

    After checking the situation, the Director of Phu Tho Provincial Police determined that this is a security and order-related incident that needs to be resolved completely in the spirit of the rule of law, otherwise it will create a " chain effect", people will impersonate violations in compensation and site clearance in localities and in other projects related to land recovery by the State.

    "The professional departments of the Provincial Police need to verify and clarify the behavior of related individuals and units. If there are violations in the field clearance compensation axis, they will be strictly handled according to the provisions of law" - Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan requested.
