On June 8, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police (Investigation Police Office) said that the unit had just issued a Decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute the arrest warrant for temporary detention against Duong Tu Nghiep, (born in 2007, residing in To Chau ward) to investigate the acts of "Sexual intercourse with a person from 13 years old to under 16 years old" and "Raping a person under 16 years old".
According to initial investigation, it was determined that around December 2024, through social networks, Duong Tu Nghiep met and developed feelings for T.P (born in 2012, residing in To Chau ward). On April 20, 2025 and November 22, 2025, Nghiep lured and had sexual intercourse with T.P.
The incident was later discovered by P's mother, so she reported Nghiep's actions to the police agency. Conducting an investigation, Nghiep admitted and confessed all of his criminal acts.
Currently, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency continues to investigate, clarify, and handle according to legal regulations.
