The end of the year is the time when many families increase their shopping to prepare for Tet. Accordingly, the demand for essential goods increases and is diverse, especially food.
Grasping that need, some subjects have taken advantage to trade in food products that do not ensure food safety (FS), affecting the health of consumers.
According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department, in November, Market Management Team No. 16 closely monitored the area, increased inspection and handling of food safety.
The unit has inspected 3 food businesses in Binh Tan district. Through the inspection, Market Management Team No. 16 discovered 1,209 units of pre-packaged food products (pickled chicken feet, shredded beef, spicy cabbage, sweet potato vermicelli, spicy fish tofu, shredded ribs, etc.) without product labels, unknown origin, no production date and expiration date, no accompanying quality documents, unused.
Because the goods do not ensure food safety according to regulations and can be harmful to the health of users, the unit has applied remedial measures to force the destruction of all violating goods according to regulations.
During the upcoming Tet holiday, Market Management Team No. 16 will continue to strengthen the handling of food safety violations.
