The program was organized by the People's Committee of Hai Chau District, Da Nang City and the Border Guard Command of Da Nang Port to encourage fishermen in the early spring of At Ty 2025.
This year, the locality has mobilized sponsors to provide 116 buoy ropes (VND250,000/pair) and 116 buoys (VND390,000/piece), with a total value of nearly VND75 million.
On this occasion, ship owners and captains signed a commitment not to violate IUU fishing, support each other in fishing, and protect sovereignty.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duy - Vice Chairman of Hai Chau District People's Committee - said that this is an activity that the locality is interested in, both enhancing equipment and integrating propaganda on fisheries laws.
“Preserving, protecting, promoting the value of the sea, enriching from the sea, ensuring sovereignty are identified as the key goals. In recent times, the entire political system has paid attention to promoting fisheries, supporting fishermen, expanding fishing grounds, which has received positive responses from fishermen, contributing to the development of the marine economy. The program is one of the activities to coordinate units to care for and accompany fishermen to add strength and will to go offshore and stick to the sea,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Duy.
