On November 21, the Market Management Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that through inspection, it discovered and seized 160 electronic cigarette products of unknown origin at two stores in Vung Tau city.
When inspecting the “Vape man” store on Do Chieu Street, Market Management Team No. 2 discovered and seized 83 electronic cigarette products with a total value of nearly 8 million VND.
At the "Lazy" store on Binh Gia Street, market management forces discovered and seized 77 similar products, worth more than 4.2 million VND. Both stores were unable to provide valid invoices or documents for the above goods.
According to the provincial Market Management Department, many stores selling these products frequently change their names and addresses; use signs in English to avoid inspection by authorities, causing difficulties in management and handling of violations.
Electronic cigarettes are a product that poses many potential risks to people's health, especially young people, but are still being sold openly.
In the coming time, the Provincial Market Management Department will strengthen inspection and control work, coordinate with functional agencies to strictly handle violations, effectively prevent illegal trading of electronic cigarettes in the area.
