On November 21, 2025, the Vietnam Women's Academy in collaboration with Jabes Magazine organized the HerASIA 2025 International Scientific Conference with the theme "Gender Equality and the role of women in sustainable development", attracting hundreds of scientists, experts and representatives of international organizations. The workshop was organized with the support of the German Savings Bank International Cooperation Fund (DSIK).
In his opening speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Tien - Director of the Academy emphasized: Gender equality is the foundation of the 2030 agenda.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Tien affirmed that gender research is of great significance in both theory and practice when it helps "only detect the difference in the impact of policies on men and women, while proving the economic benefits of promoting gender equality".

Mr. Christian Grajek - Representative of the German Savings Bank International Cooperation Fund (DSIK) said that the sponsorship of the workshop is not only an investment in knowledge, but a realized long-term mission of DSIK - creating opportunities to empower women through financial education and knowledge of sustainable development.

He called on policymakers, scholars and social organizations to use herASIA space as a strategic platform to promote financial solutions border- sensitivity environments.
Sharing about his vision for the future, Mr. Christian Grajek said that DSIK wants to spread the model of sustainable financial education not only among students but also in the broader community, to build a generation of women with financial capacity, proactive in protecting the environment and contributing to the goal of sustainable development globally.
The workshop received 282 short stories and 144 full-paper articles, of which 108 articles passed two rounds of criticism to post weak notes.
herASIA 2025 includes three main groups of topics, reflecting three pillars of sustainable development: Economy, society and environment. The JABES-oriented session brings together international quality research, focusing on gender equality in the teaching profession, the role of women in enterprises, the impact of women on labor productivity, innovation, and research on gender in energy transition and sustainable tourism. The presentations affirmed that gender is an important economic factor, directly affecting the effectiveness of the organization and the quality of development.
The English version brings an interdisciplinary and global perspective, with the participation of scholars from Malaysia, Mexico, Sri Lanka, India, Turkey and the UK.
Issues such as women in STEM, microfinance, gender-based violence, gender-based livelihoods in energy transition or work-life balance of young women are deeply analyzed by modern determination and qualitative methods. Research results show that women play a central role in innovation and sustainable development in many countries.
In the Vietnamese session, the studies focused on Vietnamese practice: Mental health of female workers, the role of women in cultural preservation and tourism, gender challenges in digital transformation, digital abilities of rural women, the voice of female journalists and gender issues in education. The presentations provide important evidence for gender-sensitive policy making.
