On October 1, at Binh Dien Prison (Binh Tien Commune, Huong Tra Town), the Department of Police Management of Prisons, Compulsory Education Facilities, Reformatory Schools, and the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to announce the President's 2024 amnesty decision for prisoners serving prison sentences at the prison.
Accordingly, Binh Dien Prison has 33 prisoners eligible to receive a special amnesty decision from the President.
After holding the ceremony to announce the amnesty decision, the officers of Binh Dien Prison quickly completed the procedures to issue amnesty certificates, travel expenses, food expenses, support money from the community integration fund and clothes for the prisoners to return to their families, making efforts to reintegrate into the community soon.
On the same day, at the Provincial Police Detention Center, the Provincial Amnesty Advisory Council also held a ceremony to announce the President's amnesty decision for three prisoners serving prison sentences at detention centers and temporary detention centers in the province.
It is known that on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 2024 and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital on October 10, 2024, the whole country has 3,763 prisoners and 2 people who are temporarily suspended being granted amnesty by the President.
