On October 1, Soc Trang Provincial Police held a ceremony to announce the President's 2024 amnesty decision for prisoners serving sentences at the Provincial Police Detention Center.
According to the President's Decision, the whole country has 3,763 prisoners who have been granted amnesty and released early from prison and 2 people who are temporarily suspended from serving their prison sentences are eligible for amnesty in 2024.
Of which, Soc Trang province has 11 prisoners who are granted amnesty. These are prisoners who have strived, followed the rules well, and made progress in the process of reform and labor.
At the ceremony, the leaders of Soc Trang Provincial Police acknowledged the efforts of the prisoners who were pardoned this time. At the same time, they emphasized that those who were pardoned must see the leniency, humanity, and special care of the Party and State. When returning to their families and localities, they must actively cultivate themselves, obey the law, quickly integrate into the community, and become useful citizens to society.
Also on the same day, the local police in the province simultaneously organized the announcement of the amnesty decision for prisoners serving their sentences at temporary detention centers. At the same time, they organized the issuance of citizen identification cards and carried out procedures for the amnestied people to return to their localities according to regulations.
