On the afternoon of May 25, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police said that the unit is temporarily detaining Vo Hoang Anh (born 1986, residing in Dong Thap province) to continue investigating the act of "Theft of property".
According to information from the Police agency, due to lack of money to spend, Vo Hoang Anh had the intention to find other people's stolen property to sell for money. At about 2:25 pm on May 22, 2026, Hoang Anh went to the area of the temple of Mr. Ba Nguyen Van Thoi (located in Cho Moi commune, An Giang province) and discovered a motorbike (of Ms. N.T. D, residing in Phu Tan commune, An Giang province) parked in the temple without anyone watching. Taking advantage of the temple area being very crowded due to the holiday, Hoang Anh secretly stole a motorbike and drove the motorbike away from the scene. Discovering that the motorbike was lost, Ms. D shouted and reported to the Cho Moi Commune Police force who were on duty to ensure security and order at the temple.
Upon receiving the report, the Cho Moi Commune Police force proceeded to chase, and at the same time set up checkpoints and arrested Hoang Anh and exhibits about 100m from the location of the theft. Through working at the Police agency, Vo Hoang Anh admitted his criminal acts.
