On January 15, Vinh Long Provincial Police said they had arrested wanted subject Mai Thi Nhan (born in 1985, residing in Dong Nai province) related to a property theft case worth more than 4.5 million VND that occurred in April 2025, after nearly 3 months of hiding.
According to the file, on April 15, 2025, due to needing money to spend, subject Mai Thi Nhan and her husband Thach Ca Minh (Tam Ngai commune, Vinh Long province) committed a property theft at the house of Mr. L.V.T (Tam Ngai commune, Vinh Long province); valued the stolen property at about 4,550,000 VND.
On June 23, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of Tra Vinh Provincial Police (now Vinh Long Provincial Police) issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the defendants and issue an order prohibiting them from leaving their place of residence for the defendants Thach Ca Minh and Mai Thi Nhan for the act of theft of property.
During the investigation, defendant Thach Ca Minh and defendant Mai Thi Nhan fled the locality. On October 23, 2025, the Police Agency issued an arrest warrant.
During her hiding time, Mai Thi Nhan continuously changed her residence to avoid being pursued by functional agencies.
However, by professional measures, the Investigation Police Agency of Vinh Long Provincial Police arrested Mai Thi Nhan while she was hiding in Ho Chi Minh City and transferred her to Vinh Long for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
