On November 11, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports announced that a martial artist from the Ba Ria - Vung Tau province Judo team had won a Bronze Medal at the 2024 World Judo Championship, taking place from November 1-12, in the US.
This is also the only bronze medal won by the Vietnamese team at the tournament. In particular, female boxers Do Tran Cam Tu (Ba Ria - Vung Tau team) and Nguyen Quynh Huong won bronze medals in the Ju No Kata U23 category, behind Japan and Italy.
The 2024 World Judo Championships will feature 282 athletes from 32 countries and territories. Athletes will compete in five championship events and five U23 events: Nage No Kata, Ju No Kata, Kime No Kata, Katame No Kata and Kodokan Goshin Jutsu.
