On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Navy (May 7,555 - May 7, 2025), from May 5 to 7, at the 78th Treatment Team, the Naval Region 5 Command organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to people in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province.
More than 300 people under the policy, people with revolutionary contributions, and families in difficult circumstances in the locality have been examined by the medical team and doctors of the 78th Treatment Team, Logistics - Technical Department, Navy Region 5 Command for internal medicine and surgery. In addition, people are also given ultrasound, electrocardiogram, X-ray, CT Scanner, ear-neck endoscopy and necessary tests...
After examination, the patient suffered from common diseases and was prescribed free medicine by the military medical unit. People with underlying diseases or complex underlying diseases will be consulted and guided to higher-level medical facilities for in-depth examination.
Not only examining and giving medicine, doctors and nurses of Treatment Team 78 also wholeheartedly propagated the causes, symptoms, and prevention of cerebral aneurysms and dengue fever; at the same time, advised and guided people on health care for the elderly and children, raising awareness of self-prevention in the community.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phai, 63 years old, residing in An Thoi ward, Phu Quoc city, expressed: "The Navy doctors and nurses examined and gave me medicine for free without having to go far. The uncles also advised them very carefully about staying healthy. We are very grateful to the soldiers for taking care of the people and protecting the homeland's sea and islands".
The attention and affection of the Navy officers and soldiers have been contributing to building a strong "people's heart posture". That is also a solid foundation to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
