According to information from the Traffic Police Department of Dak Nong Province, on December 10, the unit discovered, verified, and recorded 5 cases of passenger car drivers using their phones while driving.
Some of these cases were discovered through the extraction of surveillance cameras on the vehicle. The main fault of the driver was that one hand was driving and the other was using the phone. There were even cases where the driver was driving and using the phone for quite a long time.
For this violation, the violator will be fined from 2 to 3 million VND, have his/her driving license revoked for 1 to 3 months; if causing an accident, the driving license will be revoked for 2 to 4 months.
In addition to drawing up administrative penalty records, the traffic police force also sends notices to business owners and vehicle owners to take measures to discipline drivers.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quoc Lap, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Dak Nong Province Police, said that using a phone while driving, especially in a passenger car, is a violation of the law.
This behavior disregards the lives of the driver, passengers and other road users. Especially when driving a passenger car in places with heavy traffic and many people on board. Just not concentrating can cause a catastrophic accident.
Using a cell phone while driving is one of the causes of recent accidents involving passenger buses crashing head-on into other cars or suddenly crashing into the back of another car.
For violations, the traffic police will resolutely issue a record and strictly handle them, especially before, during and after New Year's Eve and Lunar New Year.
