On August 28, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH) of An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with Co.opmart Kien Giang Supermarket (under Saigon - Kien Giang Trading Company Limited) to organize a fire fighting and rescue drill in the supermarket's business area.
According to the hypothetical situation, a large fire suddenly broke out on the first floor of the supermarket, where many flammable goods were concentrated and there were many customers shopping. The fire spread quickly, creating a lot of smoke and toxic gas, causing many people to be trapped. As soon as the fire alarm rang, the supermarket's on-site fire fighting force quickly deployed a plan: cut off power to the entire area, use hand-carried fire extinguishers to control the initial fire, and organize instructions for guests to escape through a safe escape route.
Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, An Giang Provincial Police urgently dispatched 3 fire trucks and 30 officers and soldiers to quickly arrive at the scene. The force immediately deployed a formation, arranged spraying hoses to control and extinguish the fire, and divided search and rescue teams to bring the trapped people out safely.
The drill took place urgently, in accordance with professional procedures, ensuring safety for participating forces as well as people and property at the supermarket. Through this activity, it not only tests the ability to be ready to respond when a fire or explosion occurs but also contributes to improving the skills of supermarket staff and employees in handling situations. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to evaluate the ability to coordinate and cooperate in combat between professional fire prevention and fighting forces and on-site forces in fire fighting and rescue work.
