Accordingly, the announcement ceremony of Decision No. 5399/QD-BQP dated October 26, 2025 of the Minister of National Defense on the establishment of the Military Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is considered a big step forward for the Military University of Culture and Arts in 70 years of artistic activities.
It is known that the Army Symphony Orchestra has a scale of 3 extended troupes, with strings, presses, wood strings, brass and electronic musical instruments, equivalent to the orchestra of Austria, France, Germany; the number of musicians is 101 people with a framework of leaders, commanders, assistants and staff.

MSO's Board of Directors includes: Lieutenant Colonel, Musician Do Bao - former Head of the composition Department of the Faculty of Music, Military University of Culture and Arts appointed as Director of the Army Symphony orchestra; Lieutenant Colonel, musician Nguyen An Hieu - former Deputy Head of the Department of Cultural Management appointed as Deputy Director; Major, singer Vu Thang Loi - former singer of the Duong Hanh Cong Quarter 2 appointed as Deputy Director.
In the coming time, the Military University of Culture and Arts will closely connect with the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations and the Vietnam Musicians Association for professional consultation as well as professional orientation such as: Providing professional symphony music for the Army; Training and fostering symphony musicians for the Army and the country;
As a bridge for cultural and artistic exchanges between the Army and the people and international friends; Participating in domestic and international cultural and artistic exchange programs; promoting international cooperation in the field of music.

According to Lieutenant Colonel - Musician Do Bao, symphony music will continue to carry out the mission of conveying emotions as well as spreading good cultural values to the public through the quintessence of humanity and the country.
To ensure MSO's scale and long-term development vision, the Military University of Culture and Arts actively implements a plan to recruit and train human resources in a systematic and strategic manner.
Through symphony, academic, and modern music, it aims to spread and promote the good image of the Army, country, and people of Vietnam, while improving the cultural and spiritual life of officers, soldiers, and people.
Thereby preserving, conserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Heroic Army in the flow of Vietnamese revolutionary art, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity Lieutenant Colonel, musician Do Bao affirmed.
