Long Dai ferry terminal, one of the most intense and important river crossing points on the strategic route 15 connecting the back of the North with the Southern battlefield, is the venue for the special political art program "Thanks - Hoa Hoa Hoa River".
The program was produced by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Quang Tri province in coordination with Vietnam Television, broadcast on the evening of September 18 on VTV1 channel.
Accordingly, "A gentle word - Hoa Luong River" will tell the story of the heroic sacrifice of 16 young volunteers of Company C130, including 7 women - 9 men, all from Kien Xuong hometown, Thai Binh province (old). Not afraid of sacrifice, not afraid of hardship, those young volunteer soldiers stood firmly and steadfastly responded with the slogan: " Tim can stop beating, blood cannot stop flowing".
In the program, a new poetry collection written about the story of 16 young volunteers - people from the same hometown, on the same journey on the same day and sacrificing at the same time - will be read by journalist Lai Van Sam and BTV Hong Nhung on the stage "Words of gratitude - Hoa Luong River".
In addition, the audience also listened to the touching story about the diary of martyr Bui Nang Dac, which his sister, Mrs. Bui Thi Thao, carefully preserved, depicting the dream and aspiration to live of a young soldier...
The program also delicately combines music and stage design, creating an artistic space with a strong epic imprint. In particular, the production team has made the most of the space at the Long Dai ferry terminal relic site. The historic river became part of the stage. The ferry terminal, a witness to a fierce war, was lit up, becoming a symbol connecting the past and the present.
Songs familiar to many generations of Vietnamese people such as "Binh Tri Thien Khong Hoa", "Buoc Tren Dao Truong Son", "Truong Son Dong, Truong Son Tay", "Co gai mo duong"... will be staged with a new breath with the participation of famous artists including: People's Artist Tan Minh, singer Pham Thu Ha, Viet Danh, Anh Tho, Tung Duong, Ho Ngoc Ha, Quoc Thien, Duong Hoang Yen, Hoa Minzy...
Through the program, the organizers hope to bring the historical values of Long Dai ferry terminal closer to the audience, especially the younger generation. "We believe that when the stories of our ancestors are told in a close way, history will no longer be dry pages of books. Instead, it will become a part of emotions, arousing pride in each person, helping us to appreciate today's peaceful and happy life more" - the representative of the organizing committee shared.
In addition, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Quang Tri province directed the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Quang Tri province to coordinate with agencies and organizations to build, upgrade, renovate, and organize research on the content of the exhibition house of the historical relic site where 16 young volunteers died at Long Dai ferry terminal.
The relic site received the Decision to rank it as a National Historical Site on September 9, 2025. And also at the program "Words of gratitude - Hoa Hoa Hoa River", the solemn ceremony to receive the Certificate of Long Dai ferry terminal National Monument Rating will be held.
