The music night "Nostalgia" held at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi became a rendezvous for music lovers Trinh Cong Son and Phu Quang with the participation of Diva Hong Nhung, Bang Kieu, Ngoc Anh and Quang Ha.
In the role of host of the music night, People's Artist Le Khanh not only acts as an MC but also as a storyteller. She talks about Trinh's music as "a beauty that transcends time", where Trinh Cong Son "wants to embrace his whole life". As for Phu Quang's music, according to her, is the reality of love: Love to the end, pain to the end, but still luxurious, sophisticated and unforgettable.
As the first singer to step onto the stage, Quang Ha surprised the audience when he brought "Dau chan dia dang" by Trinh Cong Son, "Mo ve noi xa lam" and "Dau phai boi mua Thu" by Phu Quang. In each performance of the male singer, the auditorium sometimes fell silent and then sounded endless applause.
Bang Kieu is a familiar voice with Phu Quang's music and Trinh Cong Son's music. In this music night, he brought a series of musical works by the two musicians. Bang Kieu also made the audience laugh when honestly admitting that he often sang the lyrics of Trinh's music incorrectly and had songs that "he sang even 1,000 times wrongly" because he felt pressured and nervous.
Diva Hong Nhung is also a voice who has been associated with both famous musicians for many years. The female singer has been guided by musician Trinh Cong Son since she first came to Ho Chi Minh City to live and start a career and is also a familiar face in musician Phu Quang's private music nights later.
She realized that both Trinh Cong Son and Phu Quang have deep admiration for the beauty of Hanoi, for the love blooming on every small street of the capital, and both musicians show that life is finite and love is infinite.
Female singer Ngoc Anh continues to lead the audience through "Duong cam lanh", "Khuc mua Thu" - works that require emotional depth and vocal bravery. She said that musician Phu Quang wrote "Khuc mua Thu" specifically for artist Le Dung and it took a very long time after the artist passed away before she dared to sing this song.
The highlight of the program is the duet "Rose Rain" by Quang Ha and Bang Kieu or "Moscow Easter" performed by Ngoc Anh - Hong Nhung. Ngoc Anh said she had goosebumps when duetting with her senior colleague whom she has always admired.
The music night ended with a special performance mash-up from the series of songs "Hanoi returns - Oh Hanoi street - Afternoon alone through the street - Let's love each other" sung by 4 singers. The performance was like a simple but meaningful message for the first days of the year.
The "Nostalgia" program organized by Thang Long show is not simply a performance night, it is a journey back to the melodies that have accompanied the memories of many generations of audiences, a place of full and authentic emotions.
The songs in the music night were all arranged and completely renewed by musician Vu Huyen Trung and his colleagues. The program was directed by Giang Huong - the second daughter of musician Phu Quang, and produced by Ruby Ngoc.
