The MV recreates the bustling atmosphere of a village, as well as the joy of family reunions of children working far from home during Tet. Images of communal houses, flower markets… familiar to many Northern countrysides are also vividly included in the MV.
Ngoc Anh said she wrote the first verse of “Ron rung xuan den” 20 years ago and recently completed the second verse. If the first verse is a thank you for the love she has had in her life, including romantic love, the second verse expresses the singer’s gratitude to her roots and ancestors.
For Ngoc Anh, during her years in a foreign land, she always missed her homeland. The love and care of her family and relatives for each other was her spiritual support, and it was also what she always remembered and was proud of. That was also what made her think of making a MV to show her gratitude to her homeland.
Talking about the reason for waiting 20 years to complete the second verse and make the MV, singer Ngoc Anh said that her father's health - People's Artist Hoang Van Khiem - started to weaken and his memory was declining. Therefore, Ngoc Anh invited her family to participate in this special MV as a way to preserve memories with her loved ones.
“The MV may not be technically perfect, but I am happy and pleased to have sent my love to my family and my homeland…” – Ngoc Anh revealed.
In addition, the MV also features 100 actors from the Vietnam Tuong Theater, the place that imbued Ngoc Anh with traditional art and also the place where her father devoted a lot of effort, hoping to preserve Tuong art for the future.
Ngoc Anh, born in 1975, was loved as a former member of the famous 3A group in Hanoi in the 1990s. After the group disbanded, Ngoc Anh sang solo and achieved much success with the songs of musician Phu Quang. That was also an important milestone that helped her voice reach the audience, building her career to this day.
Despite her successful career, Ngoc Anh has experienced a broken marriage. In 2018, Ngoc Anh remarried businessman John Gallander - who is 12 years older than her and has become her safe haven in the US. Over the past 5 years, Ngoc Anh has been traveling between Vietnam and the US regularly to participate in music shows.
Besides her singing career, singer Ngoc Anh is also a philanthropist who has spent many years accompanying the Thien Nhan & Friends Fund, always contributing money and holding fundraising concerts to give children the opportunity to have surgery to repair their defective genitals, helping them have a better and happier life and future.
