On May 26, Vung Tau Urban Environment and Construction Services Joint Stock Company (V UNESCO) launched a campaign to collect garbage that had drifted to the beach in Bai Sau area, Vung Tau City.
On the morning of May 26, it is estimated that more than 50 tons of garbage have been collected, mainly water hyacinth to clean the beach. However, it is expected that a large amount of garbage will continue to dump into the beach area in the coming days.

According to V UNESCO representative, garbage began to appear and reach the beach in Bai Sau area from the afternoon of May 25. It is estimated to stretch for more than 3 km along Bai Sau beach, and mainly fresh water hyacinth.
Due to the large amount of garbage drifting ashore, in addition to the environmental sanitation workforce, V UNESCO also mobilized about 70 more officers and employees along with collection vehicles, excavators, express cars... to work from 4am to collect and handle.
Every year, Vung Tau City often suffers from many waves of ocean waste such as water hyacinth, mangrove, dry firewood... washed ashore. This amount of garbage is often dumped into the sea from river mouths in Can Gio, Thi Vai areas... after heavy rains, then washed up on the beaches.
